GENERAL OVERVIEW

This extremely complicated project involved the culmination of three alternative High Schools on a single campus. Freedom High, a 50 year old masonry elementary school, New features High, for pregnant teens, a 25 year old frame stucco facility and Evening High, e-Cademy, the new building on campus.

Programming involved the formation of 3 distinct Project Design Teams. It was evident that the $10 Million budget was insufficient to meet their requirements. We were able to work with the Teams and APS administration in developing a shared facility concept, similar to a University. Freedom and New Futures utilizing new and renovated facilities in the morning while Evening High followed at night. Faculty would have private space with workstations and classrooms would be subject oriented. It would not be the "teachers" classroom anymore.
